Forever grateful for your work.
This drama looks amazing
and I love the soap opera style.
It makes me go back to my favorite American shows from the 1980s. For instance, the very first frame from the first episode is very similar to how buildings were shot in Dallas. It gives you the over-the-top feeling and still I’m under the impression that there’s also something unique to it.
I study Japanese, but I’m not ready yet to give up subtitles.

Yeah, I remember the glossy, over the top US “prime time soaps” of the 1980s, like Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and The Colbys. One of the things that’s fun about Stepsisters (and several of the other 1980s Daiei-TV dramas) is that you can see the influence of American shows of that genre, but filtered through the Japanese fun-house mirror.
