I figured a good April Fool’s release would be something you’d never expect to see released by TSHS. I actually don’t hate this show or anything, but I find the main characters rather bland and uninteresting. I do like the Japanese opening theme, and The Rocket Gang are cool villains.
This is my personal favorite episode of this show, which tells Nyasu’s bittersweet origin story. Get it from Nyaa or Mega.
Oddly enough I actually subtitled several episodes of this show from VHS sources back in the analog days. The old scripts still need editing and re-timing, but who knows, maybe I’ll get around to releasing more of them on April Fool’s Days in the coming years. In the mean time, there’s a group called PocketMonsters Fansubs that has subtitled lots of episodes. You can find their site here.

One of the animators of Pokemon even said Team Rocket was based off the Dorombo Gang.
When you think about it, it’s amazing that Yatterman was never released in North America, especially given its association with Pokemon.

This is actually cool to see. I grew out of Pokemon a while ago but I always remember this episode being an highlight standout when they showed this to American audiences. I’m gonna check it out because I always wonder what the the differences between the Japanese and American version are like.

I know someone who is planning on buying the new Big X box, that’s why I took it off my want list.
Actually digital remasters of Kyodain 1-4 and the Danguard Ace movies have both been projects on my to-do list for a very long time. If you wanted to volunteer to rip or transcribe the scripts (especially the Danguard Ace movies), it would be a big help.
